With the PreciBal, HyQuest Solutions launches a cost-efficient precipitation gauge using the highly accurate weighing principle. Determining mass instead of volume significantly increases the accuracy of the measurement. Furthermore, due to advanced algorithms, the weighing rain gauge measures the water equivalent of all forms of precipitation: rain, snow, drizzle, hail. With PreciBal, HyQuest Solutions completes its line of state-of-the art pluviometry products making the most advanced technology available at a fair price.

The PreciBal excels with proven and modern technology, durable material and algorithm-based data processing. Various catch diameters are available making the device compliant with most local regulations.

Highlights

Load cell technology:All water is collected and weighed – independent of the phase of the precipitation: icy particles, snowflakes and rain are all accounted for. No water is missed, all water is weighed and compensated for various external influences (see next point).

Algorithm-based data enhancement: PreciBal achieves very high levels of accuracy by means of correcting the data to eliminate the influence of wind vibration, particles, unrealistic weight variations, evaporation, and temperature fluctuation. This processing ensures best performance and highest accuracy even in the most adverse weather conditions. The processing requires little power and the energy-free emptying process reduce the power consumption of the PreciBal to very low levels.

SDI-12 and RS-485 communication: Load cell and algorithms demand for edge processing in the PreciBal, which in turn allows for interference-free serial communication via SDI-12 and RS-485. Components have been chosen to reduce power consumption to the absolute minimum. In addition, a pulse output makes PreciBal compatible with older logger generations
